Where Our Grapes Come From

Every wine begins with a place. We work with growers across Napa Valley who care deeply about the land, the vines, and the fruit they farm. Each vineyard brings its own character by soil, climate, farming and the people who tend it.

These are the placed behind the wines of Wine & Barrel Co.

St. Helena, Napa Valley

P&J Vineyard

The 43-acre P&J Vineyard is named after Pat and Julie Garvey, as it was common to find the two working together, pruning and tending to the vineyard late into the evening hours. It’s hard to imagine a vineyard that has received more love and care!

The vineyard rests on the southern edge of the St. Helena Appellation and enjoys expansive views of Mt. St Helena to the north. With its close proximity to the Napa River, P&J Vineyard offers a diverse blend of alluvial soils, from Cortina gravelly loam to Pleasanton loam and Cole silt loam. These deep fertile soils help the vineyard come into balance during the warm St. Helena summers.

Oakville, Napa Valley

Rodeno Vineyard

Rodeno Vineyard lies on the eastern side of Oakville, one of Napa Valley’s most established Cabernet Sauvignon regions. Five distinct blocks span the site, each shaped by subtle variations in exposure and soil composition. Warm, consistent days are balanced by evening cooling, supporting steady, even ripening across the vineyard.

Farming is quiet, disciplined, and restrained, with no tilling, no herbicides, and all fruit hand-harvested. The approach allows the vines to remain in balance with their environment, with vineyard decisions guided by preservation rather than intervention.

At Rodeno, Cabernet Sauvignon expresses classic Oakville character with structure and depth, supported by clarity and composure. The wines show presence without excess, shaped as much by thoughtful farming as by the site's inherent strength.
